Back in 2016, the owners of 4-17 Southern Speedway received a call from Stone Ministries; Dick and Kay Stone. It was at that time they offered their services on race days. The Stone Ministries were responsible for administering the racer's prayer at each driver's meeting, as well as the prayer prior to each event taking place.
In 2016 Joe & Janet Gentry (co-owners) had no idea how deeply the Stone Ministries would touch the drivers, fans, crew members, and facility. Stone Ministries has been an integral part of 4-17 Southern Speedway since opening day in 2017.
Chaplin Dick Stone passed away on Saturday August 15, 2020.
"Stoney" made sure to greet each and every person he came in contact with, even on days he was not feeling up to the challenge. He always offered prayer to those that would accept it.
Kay Stone plans to continue the Ministry in Dick's honor.
Stoney will be greatly missed. Please keep Miss Kay and the rest of the family in your thoughts. Thoughts and prayers to the Stone family.
